The importance of inbound links for website optimisation.

For a long time know the most important thing when optimising has been inbound links (back links), even more important though, is the way the links are constructed. It is important that the right words or phrases are used in the anchor text (the text used to create the link). The best way to explain this is by using the following example,

Road Angel

In the above example, the anchor text is Road Angel The reason being, that the page being linked to is specifically targeting those keywords. By using the keywords in the anchor text of the back link, the page receives a big boost and will hopefully rank high in Google.
